En pointe without the shoes?

When dancing en pointe, you must wear special shoes and be very strong- but is there anything that could happen if you don%26#039;t wear those special shoes?

En pointe without the shoes?
You can break your toes, strain muscle tear or rip tendons ligaments and muscles. You have to have the shoes to do point. you learn the basics in pre point but you are never alowed to try an stand on your toes with out shoes. and you never put the shoes on until you are ready and know what damage you can do. Point is very hard on your feet. Toes bleed an crack, takes alot of preperation and training. Takes alot of conditioning and alot of people cant handle the strain that it puts on the body.
Reply:ouch.... I would not try it. You need the ribbons to support your ankles and you need the wood to really get up onto your toes. Plus you%26#039;d probably fall over or break a toe.
Reply:you could seriously **** up your toes and feet.. If you are a professional ballerina then you%26#039;d know that your toes get blisters on them and they bleed all the time... You have to wear those special shoes..

Sometimes it depends on what kinda dance you do.. Some ballerina%26#039;s don%26#039;t wear those shoes.. Just don%26#039;t get on your tipy toes...
Reply:well, i%26#039;m guessing it%26#039;s going to HURT. En pointe means on your toes? Can you really dance on your tip toes in regular slippers or shoes or barefeet?
Reply:Well, I guess you could go on pointe, but it would hurt ALOT, trust me. If if kinda hurts already with the pointe shoes, it will hurt alot alot alot more without. Hope this helps!
Reply:you can damaged your feet, knees, hips, back, sholders, etc. it can be very dangerous to go en pointe without proper training, let alone without proper SHOES.

dont.

its a bad plan.
Reply:I could stand (balance) on pointe in retire bare-footed when I danced. Most dancers can do this. Standing en pointe on both feet in any position was a breeze. The shoe helps, but the foot does the work.

I think it has a lot to do with the natural shape of my feet and that my toe length was suited for dancing on pointe. Otherwise, I was just very strong.

FYI, it%26#039;s NOT very good for your feet. It%26#039;s just a party gag!
Reply:OH MY LORD Don%26#039;t even try it! You%26#039;ll blow out your ankles, and completely stretch the metatarsals beyond the normal range of motion.

Its actually physically impossible for an adult to sustain actual pointe position without pointe shoes, though for some reason kids are really good at it. You would have to walk knuckled over.

Just as an FYI- There is no wood in pointe shoes, but I totally see the point (no pun intended) you were going for!
Reply:First of all, its almost impossible to dance without pointe shoes because there is no support for your feet. You would not be able to stay up on pointe.

Second, it would be extremely painful if you are not trained to dance without pointe shoes and padding. It would most likely damage your feet, maybe even permanently.
Reply:You can%26#039;t go on pointe... you have to have them to get on pointe.
