Shoes to wear in New York?

I'm travelling to New York on Thursday, and as a quickie I'd like to know what kind of shoes to wear. The forecast says it'll start out in the 30s and progressivly get higher until it reaches 50 the day I leave. I'm also going to be dong a lot of walking. So would regular walking shoes be okay? Trainers? Sneakers? Or do I have to get special hiking boots? Please help!

I live in Los Angeles, so the shoes I normally wear are either plain old Pumas or slip-on Vans knockoffs. It'd help if anyone knew any places in LA to get suitable shoes. I've tried a few stores that don't have anything.

it is a bit snowy, but depending on where you're going to be, different shoes will be needed. if you're going to the city, flats or whatever you wear in los angeles is fine. if you're going to be hiking, wear hiking boots. if you're staying in a small town with friends and family, standard sneakers will definitely work. heck, bring all three if you wanna be fancy!

Reply:Its snowy here so,,hiking boots are best but,,be sure they are comfortable.Or a durable pair of sneakers.Oh,,%26amp; NY weather changes alot.Its unpredictable.
Reply:Uggs would probably be the best: 1) they are warm (since its cold here, and snowed today) and 2) they are comfy (which is a good thing when you are going to be in Manhattan .. and doing a lot of walking) .. ENJOY YOUR STAY !
