Anyone has anyway to remove chewing gum totally and effectively from shoes' soles when one step on it? Any special chemicals needed?
How to remove chewing gum from shoes?
WD-40 works fantastic. It will take it all off quickly.
Reply:hairspray
Reply:freeze it in the freezer or with an ice cube, it will come right off.
Reply:I've heard of peanut butter, ( what a yucky mess, but it breaks it down) and, ice (makes the gum hard, and you chip it off)
Reply:Rub the gum with an ice cube until it "freezes" and then peel it off.
OR
Use Goo-Gone
Reply:Look at this product it works really well.
Reply:Put it in the freezer and allow the gum to freeze. Remove the frozen gum with a butter knife edge. If any residue is left, use any oil based product from your kitchen like mayo, peanut butter, butter, and or oil to rub the residue off, wipe clean!
Reply:ice
peanut butter
these two get gum out of hair as well
Reply:no - stick them in a plastic bag and then in the freezer the gum will freeze and you can just chip it off
sounds gross so dont forget the plastic bag!
Reply:Put the shoe in the freezer. Once the gum hardens (in a couple of hours) then peel it off the shoe.
Just make sure to put the shoe in a plastic bag so it soesn't stink up the food.
Reply:Put the shoe in a plastic bag and put it in the freezer. Once the gum is frozen it will pop off.

What kind of shoe polish do you use for patent leather shoes?
is there a special polish or will normal black shoe polish do the job?
What kind of shoe polish do you use for patent leather shoes?
nope you can't get a polish that why i stopped buying them ,oh if they just dirty just rub with a clean cloth or baby wipes are good .
Reply:Vaseline is marvelous for patent shoes..It is so greasy it keeps the shoes soft and crack free....smear some on and leave overnight then rub off with a soft cloth...You can buy Vaseline in England but if you are from the States or somewhere else I wouldn't know if you can purchase it elsewhere...
Reply:There are only two simple steps to care for patent leather: cleaning and shining.
Cleaning is easily done with a mild soap and a wet cloth or ideally using AQUILA (Urad's gentle leather cleaner).
Some advantages of using AQUILA are to prevent the side effects of chlorine and minerals contained in water and to dissolve any dirt or grease accumulations. This should be done after each use; otherwise this dirt starts attacking the varnish, eventually reducing its shiny finish. At the very least dust should be removed with a dry, but very soft cloth (chamois or shoe shine cloth).
Cleaning the leather as above will go a long way in keeping your patent leather shiny. But applying VERNICE will go the extra mile! This will give it the “red carpet” glow!
VERNICE (pronounced VERNI-TCHEI) can be applied with a soft cloth. Spray and spread the VERNICE evenly and leave to dry. It dries in only a few seconds and there's no need for buffing.
VERNICE is liquid silicon that protects and shines. Another benefit, especially for dance shoes, it lubricates leather and helps prevent scuffs marks and scratches. It will not stay greasy so it can also be used on purses, belts etc..
Do not use grease or Vaseline!!
Reply:the traditional sort that comes in a little tin that you rub on with a cloth and, er, polish to a shine. The elbow-grease kind, in other words.
Reply:you dont the wax will dull the shine, a wipe with a damp cloth or a duster and a squirt of pledge will do fine if they are really mucky.
Reply:gloss paint-as there is no polish for patent shoes.
Reply:um, i dont htink you need polish. just wipe them with a kleenex because they are smooth and shiny already.
Reply:Mr. Sheen or any other general purpose spray polish will do the trick and use a soft duster or old T-shirt to polish them with and buff them up to the high shine you require.
Reply:patent shoes dont have polishes, they cannot be polished over. Your best bet is a gloss nail varnish, this is what I use.
Reply:Vaseline work's just put on then rub off protect's too.

Shoes for skateboarding?
I mean, are there any model that is special for skateboarding?
What's the name of sports shoes (any sport shoe) that goes a bit higher to protect the ankle? I need the name is english
Shoes for skateboarding?
high tops
Reply:um, there are 1000's of skate shoes that are jsut for skatebaording...that's why they are called skate shoes. Lots of brands have a high top style shoe to protect your ankles more if thats what you're looking for, nike, emerica, and maybe even a couple others, i've never not you can sprain or break your ankle in any shoe so either kind so it won't matter much. I like fallen shoes specifically the fallen patriot shoe, I'm currently using nike sb and they're super comfortable and so far they're holding up good so i'd say durable and light. Skate shoes are trial and error you'll really need to find what works best for you because we all skate differently and our shoes will wear differently. I also like vans, dvs, es, emerica, and adio.

Who can I contact about getting custom made shoes boxes??
I have a clothing line, I would like to get special made shox boxes for some of my shoes and idea where I can get this done. I know somewhere in Chine but a company name would be nice, thanks.
Who can I contact about getting custom made shoes boxes??
I've tried searching for those made in china but all they have are very big boxes. Anyway, I found another site which offers shoe boxes.:
http://www.bagnboxman.co.uk
If you are ordering large quantities maybe you could negotiate for a better price. Hope this helps and good luck.

Buying shoes?
Well im looking for a couple of pair of new shoes because the ones i have right now are terrible shape and i have some special events coming up so i need some new shoes.
Is there a website/store where i can get running/basketball/casual shoes for cheap prices, or maybe even wholesale deals/prices. I dont really want to buy shoes off of ebay because most of them have been worn before, and plus ebay has good shoes, but not always in the size i need.

How do u clean shoes?
do u just stick em in tha washer and dryer? or is there some sort of special way?? and im NOT talking bout leather shoes or anything, just like adidas or nikes
How do u clean shoes?
Take out the laces and put them in the washer DO NOT put them in the dryer to dry. Put them out in front of a fan or window.
Reply:remember they will make alot of noise to, and remember to tie the laces together or you can lose them. Take out the insole to if you can, it gets nasty when wet.
Reply:If they're mostly synthetic or leather, I'd use a leather shampoo for sports/tennis shoes, usually obtainable cheaply at a Walmart. If they're canvas, then get an upholstery cleaner -- usually the kind for cleaning the interior of a car, in a can with a scrub-brush top, works fine.
I've been known to take a handled nylon cleaning brush and put shoes in the tub and scrub them with detergent and hot water. And then leave them to dry outside. But the results vary.
I doubt you'd find me washing grungy tennis shoes with my towels and washcloths in the washer, though.
Reply:I usually just throw them in the wash with some towels and old clothes in warm water and soap. When you put them in the dryer makes sure to put a lot of clothes in it so that it doesn't make a huge banging sound when the shoes are going around.
Reply:I put my sneakers in the washer and dryer. It works. I don't think there's a special way.. ?
If they are more fancyful shoes. I just wipe them with water and a washcloth.
Reply:if they're sneakers, they can go in the washer...don't put clothes with them.
Reply:dryel...it's a cleaner for the dryer...it's great
Reply:SHOE CLEANER!
Reply:well puting them in the washer does not work to well.
get some stain remover and get a wet cloth and wipe the shoe. or get one of those scrub brushes.
Reply:put them in the washer but dont put them in the dryer

What kind of shoes should i wear with this?
put all thre of these on your creen at the same time - i was gonna suggest flats - but it could work out with heels -
purse - http://www.ebags.com/shiraleah/silk_clut...
shoes - http://cgi.ebay.com/SEXY-UNIQUE-LIGHT-GR...
i would suggest either a metal tome bracelet - and earrings - or costume jewlery - imitating swavorkian crystal or glass beads - in a green color - you could probally wear a necklace but it should be long ( right below bustline ) and i would go with costume jewelry then also ( think rocks or a green stone on a chain ) but i would do no bracelet and no only small diamond earings -
consider wearing an anklet -
Reply:Definetly not ugg boots, bad combo.
I'm sorry but none of the shoes match because the dress is very casual and laid back while heels are more dressy especially considering that the material is terry cloth.
Try a flat in white, beige, pink or some other light color, black is too dark for it.

but black shoes with that wouldn't look good at all in my opion and uggs only look good in my opion with jeans.
Reply:if you have to wear heels i would pick the first in black. i think you should go with flats of sandals because the dress with the heels looks to night clubbish for around town. don't wear uggs though, because they are out of style, and with the pink dress you will look like britney speares. i would also wear a jacket over this and chunky jewlery to make it more original and chic (but have the jacket in a darker color, not white or pink).
Reply:coach.com carries a beautiful charm bracelet that would look good and a simple sweater would help the outfit. pick a sweater (zip up and leave unzipped) in a black/silver/white and then wear the matching shoes
Reply:if i had to choose from your options, i'd go with the third shoe link in silver, but you can get some great flats for walking around in at payless (ya, i no, i just suggested payless) for about $10- $20 a pair. they're nothing great, but are comfortable for the average day.

Maybe a picnic in the park , pack all his favorite foods.

I want to paint shoes %26amp; jeans.Do you use a primer?Special paints?
Does anyone have instructions (free) for painting shoes or jeans?
For jeans, craft stores sell Fabric Paints that won't wash out when you wash the jeans
For shoes, if they're canvas (like converse), the Fabric Paints work on them too - If they're leather (or other smooth stuff) the only addition would be a clear final coat spray (that you can also get at craft stores)
Reply:acrylic paints and fabric puff paints do not wash out!

other wise just go to town!

Put colour back in to leather tan shoes?
Is there something that can bring my tan shoes back to life without buying any special products? I was hoping something around the house may work, but not furniture polish! I tried this before and it made my shoes look lifeless and dull!
Remember I need to raise the colour, not make them look shiny.
Put colour back in to leather tan shoes?
Tan shoe polish will recolor your leather shoes. Just find the right color to match! If you don't wont them shiny just don't buff them to a shine!
Reply:Make a paste with olive oil and instant coffee and carefully, gradually, sparingly...rub it on with a rag then buff it with another....worked for me :))

Can I like Email or phone up a company and ask ask for shoes one size bigger?
EVERY place, no matter what only seem to go up to size 12 officially, I could get size 12, BUT they might be a bit uncomfortable, so I go for 13 to be on the safe side, but no where does 13, only those special places that only have types of shoes I dont want... plus they're very expensive! It's so hard to find size 13, can I just ask the manufacturer directly? Like DC or Nike or Converse or whoever?
Thank you

If you don't like email already, I'm sure you will grow to like it eventually.

Reply:My partner has exactly the same problem.... he did find that Caterpillar do the larger sizes, and for formal type shoes he has to go to Brantano www.brantano.co.uk but the choice is not so good!! He sometimes gets cheaper shoes on the internet too.... but it's annoying that he cannot walk into a shop and get him shoes/sandals/trainers/slippers or anything to fit!! Marks and Spencers are the only company i know of on the high street who can accomodate him sock wise... as they do a size 12.5 to 14 in their socks, but don't get the shoes in the larger sizes to match!!!
We feel your pain... and any lobbying to manufaturers you wanna do... i say go for it!!!!
Reply:I think you could, but i doubt they would oblige.
I do know that Top man and Burtons do some styles in a size 13. You will need to ask as they are not always on show and sometimes they are just one off so ask
Where do you live near YORK? There is a shop there called TALL GUY - who go up to a size 15 and they have quite a choice.
Reply:You can do what you like, whether it makes any difference is another matter.
Reply:Have your foot sized. A wider width may give you a better fit.
Most shoes come in a D width. Try a E , EE , or EEE width.
If the front of your shoes are curling up--they are too long--you need a wider width.

I saw someone(man) wearing a converse shoes one day.
But this shoes were a little different from regular converse.
It has a pointed nose like a dress shoes or something.
Maybe it was a special line of converse or may not be a converse at all.
Does anyone know about this shoes? or where i can get it?
Thanks.

I have a problem with my shoes!?
OK...I bought these shoes last summer and they are nothing special. In fact they are the most comfortable shoes I've ever had EXCEPT...
They are low closed-toe leather shoes and the problem I'm having is at the heel. So, the shoes are closed at the back of the heel but the back of the shoe presses real hard right on top of my left heel. OK this is not easy to explain so sorry for the confusion.
Either way...my question is...how do I soften the leather at the back of the shoe so it stops giving me blisters???
I have a problem with my shoes!?
Rub a dry bar of soap on it, leave for a bit then wipe off. This should soften the leather. The cheaper the soap the better because of high vegetable extract content.
Reply:try buying leather softener or buy heel guards that you can put at the heel!!

I wana pet...wat do u think i shod get for my special someone?
dog,cat.hamster...etc....
PS i dunno wat he likes soo...
I wana pet...wat do u think i shod get for my special someone?
none! A pet should be for life, and what happens if he doesnt like the animal you get? What will become of the animal...now if he has mentioned really wanting a pet, then think about the lifestyle...a Dog is a people pet..they need to socialize and have a lot of contact with their owner, along with plenty of exersice...and where a rodent type, or reptile doesnt require daily hands on..but require a special cage and diet. A cat is a semi-social creature, meaning they like attention but on their own terms such as maybe to doze on your lap in the evening
So I would re-think the idea! Maybe probe him see what he would prefer to have before you jump into buying a pet

Overarch on pointe shoes..?
Ok, I've been on pointe for about 6 and a half years now, and the one thing I've always had trouble with is an overarch.. I have extremely high arches that just seem to fold over in pointe shoes. I've done a lot of work to make my ankles stronger but, I still get very painful cramps in my feet, and my tendons hurt after I'm done. I've tried many different ways to put elastic on my pointe shoes to try to help but it pretty much doesn't help. Does any one have any special tricks or ways to modify your shoes (for practice of course they don't have to look nice), that I can try?
Overarch on pointe shoes..?
Wow, you've got a killer arch. Literally speaking, even. I have a lower arch and so my problem is bending down closer to the box, but my friend has really high arches and she had been having problems. She got her shoes double shanked and also one pair have- get this- carbon fiber shanks. They never break. Her shoes don't snap now and she's much more comfortable. I don't know if this will help but I hope your feet get to feeling better!

Is it worth it to buy an IPod just for my workout shoes?
I asked this in another section, but nobody answered.
I bought a pair of Nike+ running shoes last week. It has a special feature in it, where if you buy a special chip, you can attatch it to your shoe and then attatch that chip to your IPod. What the chip does is, it counts how many steps you've taken and it records it on your IPod. I don't have an IPod, and the chip costs about 30 bucks. Is it worht it to buy both the special chip and the IPod for about $130 dollars, or should I just buy a step counter device? And how much does a step counter cost?
I already have an MP3 Player, but the device only works with an IPod. Apparently the shoes were designed specially by ITunes.

Tennis shoes warranty?
I'm planning on ordering a pair of adidas tennis shoes online. However, the site I am considering ordering from does not state the shoes come with a 6-month durability guarantee warranty. This site is the only one I can find with the right shoes I want. They are a special edition of the Barricade IV's. Is the warranty automatically included even though it doesn't say, or will I have to look elsewhere?
Tennis shoes warranty?
I have never heard of a durability warranty on athletic shoes. Warranties usually cover defects in manufacture and workmanship.

What is the difference between Active Shoes and Running Shoes?
So I was looking through the shoe stores the other day looking to buy some good shoes for gym wear and running. But there seems to be two kinds of shoes for sports.
One is active shoes, those are the one with special heels to absorb force like a spring. The other ones are running shoes.
I asked a salesperson what the difference were and he told me that running shoes are more flexible and simply for running obviously. Whilst active shoes are more multiple things like jumping, hiking etc.
I just don't get it. They seem the same to me. I usually run 15-30 minutes everyday. I'm not a serious runner and I also workout at the gym. I really don't know which shoes I should get. I'm thinking of getting the active shoes, cause really I don't see any difference.
What is the difference between Active Shoes and Running Shoes?
While running shoes and active shoes may appear the same, they are, in fact, drastically different.
You'll find that the inside workings of running shoes are developed for more pounding of the pavement and will last more miles than if you were to run in active shoes. You'll find differences in the core, cushioning, stability and even ventilation (and more, too). All of these differences cater to the needs of a runner rather than your everyday schmoe.
If you're looking to pick up running, I'd suggest getting running-specific shoes rather than use indoor soccer shoes or active shoes. Your feet will thank you later. And, the shoes are technically the only piece of equipment you need to go running. If you were playing football you'd invest in the padding and cleats and everything else. Why wouldn't you invest in the right gear for running as well?
Reply:active would be like always on the go type thing. running is if ur running or thing in that nature. but i would say that if u only run at the gym or what not. get the active. it would be less hassel

What is it with women judging guys by the shoes they are wearing?
2X in my past 2 different married women told me they almosty did not even get to know their husbands because of the shoes they were wearing the first time they met. Yesterday I am with a single friend and he and this new female are chatting and getting along, both obviously interested, and when we are leaving she makes a special effort to check out his shoes because she could not see them earlier.
Guys mostly no care about shoes probably wear what you buy for them---I don't get it, I do not believe they are checking out the size of guys feet,,,,are they??
What is it with women judging guys by the shoes they are wearing?
Some women think that if you don't care about the shoes on your feet you may not be a 'total package' kind of guy and might have some flaws not easily detectable right away. How they come to that conclusion through shoes I'm not exactly sure, but as long as you appear like you care about how you look from head to toe perhaps they equate that to having everything in order? More datable?
Reply:lol...wow, you hang out with some pretty superficial people...
Reply:Uhh..... I almost never look at people's feet unless I'm really bored with life or someone points them out to me. That's a strange thing. I've never heard of women judging guys because of their shoes. I don't think they're looking for the size, but maaaybe.
Reply:yes there is many girls dat judge boys on there shoes cs by there shoes they think that they can know his style
Reply:its not the style or brand of shoe...its the size...haven't you ever heard the rumor to that? the size of a man's shoe means his 'private' part is the same...so a size 10 is pretty impressive, more than that and its downright breathtaking in its implication...
personally i only date men who wear a size 10 or larger
Reply:I was brought up that when you meet people for the first time, like at a job interview or a party, the first things people will notice about you are your top and bottom, your hair and your feet. If you don't have a good haircut and good shoes, you may not get noticed. I was also thaught that before they meet you face to face, the only thing they have to judge you by is your application or RSVP, so you should have nice handwriting.
Reply:They're not checking the shoes, they're checking the size.

Reply:No, I think they are trying to assuage the man's socioeconomic status. I think that's gross. I only check out men's shoes to see if they are dorky, as in boat shoes, which I totally hate! Some women are very materialistic (as are men, of course).
Reply:the kind of shoe people wear says alot about them. if the shoe looks uncomfortable, then it says that person is up tight, and tries too hard, but if the shoe looks comfortable it say that the person is easy going, and laid back. some people have a foot fetish, and big/small feet scare them, so i would understand that

What's the deal with these shoes!?!?
I bought some New Balances in the year of 1999, and I didn't think they were all that special but I needed some running shoes, they costed alot. But one day I came...about 4 days ago and this boy said I got on them classics. So I was like ok. Soon every boy started noticing it and said "Cool Classics" I was like thanks but I didn't think it was all that special, here is a pic of them:

apparently classics are a certain kind of shoe. you know, like limited edition? kinda like nikes.
they range from $60 %26amp; up, depending on the style.
but maybe because they're a little older, they might be just $60
Reply:I like them. They remind me of those old-school 90s British Knights shoes. :D I think that's what those kids meant, that they are meant to look "vintage".
Reply:Maybe they are making fun of you because I know certain New Balances are in style, but those are ugly. Maybe when they say "classics" they are joking because they are so old. It's almost like my cousin telling this girl she has a beautiful smile because she has no teeth just to laugh at her.

Track Running Shoes?
I have recently bought a new pair of Adidas Meteor shoes as I wanted to improve my sprinting time but I have no idea on how to run in them?
My current fastest 100m time ( in flat-footed shoes ) is 12.26 secs and I am 14yrs old. How much faster could running in track shoes make me?
I heard that there is a special way of running in track-shoes and so- what is it? And what is running on the balls of your feet? What is the correct way of running a 100/200/400m race in them? (start, middle, end) Could I use track shoes for an 800m race? or are running shoes better?
Track Running Shoes?
First off, your track spikes need to fit your foot like a glove, meaning the size of your spikes wouldn't be the same size as your regular shoes. Also, running an 800, I would suggest a different type of spikes, ones that have a heel part to them, or just regular running shoes.
Second, running on the balls of your feet means staying on the part of your foot that is closest to your toes.
Last, another thing that might improve your time would be to use starting blocks. Spend time with these to determine your settings and learn how to correctly come out of them.
Best of luck to you!

Track Running Shoes?
I have recently bought a new pair of Adidas Meteor shoes as I wanted to improve my sprinting time but I have no idea on how to run in them?

Reply:I have been running for 8 years now. Though I am biased towards Nike as a brand, I would recommend you to go to a running-specific store, like Fleet Feet in Carrboro, NC. They can help you find the right shoe because people buy shoes that aren't necessarily right for their feet, but more comfortable or fashionable. But after you get the correct shoes or even if you haven't, I would go to any major athletics store and ask the sales associates because they are getting paid to know the products they are selling. But make sure you state the use/reason for buying the shoes. Good luck!!!

Reply:First buy Asics Running shoes.
next place one foot in front of the other and repeat as fast as possible.
Reply:Wow! If you run 100m in 12.26, without spikes you’re pretty fast! I'm not an expert but i would say running in spikes would get your time down to about 11.86.
Running on the balls of your feet does make you run a lot faster. It's when only the front part of your foot (where the spikes are) touches the ground. There should also be a 'clawing the ground' action when you run. Basically the less your foot touches the ground, the better. This can be quite hard to learn- but keep on working at it, it pays off!
Good Luck!
Reply:i'm not so sure you'd have to be extremely fast to run 800m especially in track shoes which i know you can so practice everyday to get better
Reply:Well, im not a sprinter, im a freshman distance runner. But, I do know that mile times and 3200 times are decided by 5-20 seconds sometimes, and 100's are often decided by less than a second so you wont be seeing huge changes.

What is the difference between dress shoes, dress pants and notmal shoes and pants?
I am supposed to wear dress pants and dress shoes for my high school graduation. Are these same as normal black pants and black shoes or are they something special?
What is the difference between dress shoes, dress pants and notmal shoes and pants?
normally when the attire calls for "dress" its usually something that you at least have to dry clean.
for a graduation, they probably just want you to NOT show up wearing jeans. a nice pair of khakis and shoes with a clean long sleeve shirt and tie should do fine.
your black pants and shoes will work too.
Congratulations!
Reply:Dress pants usually has a high quality, expensive looking fabric... that you can't throw in the washing machine. To buy one... go in the suit section.
And dress shoes are normal looking high heels.

I am looking for a special shock absorbant running shoe?
My boyfriend saw a running shoe while watching extreme sports and is looking for the shoe. He describes it as being a outer spring with a half-moon shaped sole. He also says the shoe will extend the height to add 3 or 4 inches. We would appreciate any kind of help. Thanx
I am looking for a special shock absorbant running shoe?
You can try the new nike 360, but it's mostly for flat-footed runners. I have the high arched foot and I've preferred the asics gels, a lot of support while running.
Reply:You can not go wrong with Nike. Just Do It.

Do you take your shoes off at the door when you come in your house?
Do you have a special place you put your shoes at when you come in the door? Or do you keep your shoes on in your home?
Do you take your shoes off at the door when you come in your house?
I have a 2 year old and 4 year old.
I take them off immediately. My children usually know when I'm about to get home and pull all the pillows off the couches and chairs...throwing them into a pile in the center of the living room. When I come home, they immediately grab me...drag me to the pillows and we play on the floor. If I don't take them off, a little one could get hurt....the boy is a monkey!
Reply:We take our shoes off as we enter through the office or back porch and that's where we leave them.
Reply:No. A house is not a home without a little dirt. 4 kids running in and out dont want to keep taking them off and putting them on.
Reply:my mother would beat me if i walked inside the house with shoes on!
Reply:If they're muddy...Otherwise I leave them on...I have many mats on the deck and at the back door to wipe them on....
Reply:that depends on which house you're in,, some houses prefer no shoe policy and others are nuetral about it but sometimes when you don't know what to do its always polite to remove them.
Reply:My family doesn't do it but this is a very good practice because it keeps the house clean. I wear my shoes to my bedroom and put them in the closet. I don't wear shoes in the house.
Reply:I take them off at the door and have others do the same so as not to ruin my carpet. My sister once stepped in poo without knowing it and would have messed up my house had I not told her to take off her shoes and place them on a rug by the door.
Reply:I ALLWAYS take the off, at my own house or some one elses. i have a shoe rack but i never use it. I hate it when ppl come in and dont i think its VERY disrespectful. Unless i were inthe house were i was skared to for infection from the carpet or what ever is on it. then i just want t leave......uk!
Reply:Nope I keep them on at all times when I'm awake.
Reply:i take my shoes off and leave one pair out and ready on the side of the matt and the others in the closet next to the door.
Reply:No. As soon as I get into my bedroom, I take my shoes off and place them back into the shoebox.
Reply:Yes...as soon as I walk in the door - even before I turn off the alarm! I can't stand to have shoes on in the house...feels like I'm suffocating. I ususally leave a pair of sneakers or flips on the mat at the back door just in case I need to step outside.
Reply:I do take my shoes off. We live in the south so it makes it easier to cool down. I don't have a designated spot - but considering I spent 20 minutes yesterday searching for everyone's shoes, I should make one.

Luggage for shoes?
Hi, Is there any special type of luggage for shoes?
I bought 10 pairs of shoes in Italy. So I'm planing to bring it with me back to my country.
Luggage for shoes?
I found one, but it only holds 6 pairs, is $17.99, and only has a few left in stock:

Wedding shoes?
Hi
I'm getting married and I'm having trouble finding some shoes!
All the shoes that are available seem to be dowdy, old fashioned, unflattering court shoes, I want something a bit more fun and stylish!
I'm wearing a knee length dress so would like some shoes that are a bit more special than the usual bridal shoes.
Does anyone have any suggestions where I can fins something a bit different? links to websites etc appreciated!!
Thanks!

Reply:This may sound weird - but look at DANCE SHOE sites. These ladies have to wear shoes that are not only flattering, but semi-comfortable and sexy!
I ended up getting shoes from a dance shoe company. They are english shoes which I love, and will be able to use again when I go swing or line dancing.
They cost almost as much as my dress, but then again, I didn't pay a lot for my bridal gown.
Good luck!!!

Reply:I would go to a bridal shop. I was at Davids Bridal the other day and they have some really cute shoes. Also you could try e-bay or amazon. You could find really cute shoes for really cheap.
Reply:Why not go to a shoe store and look at the selection of shoes worn with cocktail dresses? It doesn't have to be a wedding shoe. My dress was very formal, I designed it and I took a pair of comfortable canvas tennies and sewed hand beaded and pearled lace to match what was on my dress onto the shoes. I then had our shoe cobbler put leather soles on them so I could dance in them. Think outside the box. Look at shoes in your local shoe stores and get something that you like and will go with our dress.

depends where you live really. i live in the staffordshire area( england) i got married last year, and did not want the traditional bridal court shoe... they are boring!!! i went into my nearest town centre to look in normal shoe shops, you have lots more choice and style in there. i bought some lovely silver strappy sandel type shoes, with small diamantes(spelling!) going across the thin strap at the front. they lokked fantastic, and you could wear them again after you get married for a night out! you see loads of bridal pictures now(or even celeb pictures getting married) that have a nice silver shoe on, and they look so much better than the old traditional white/cream court shoe. hope you find what you want, and have a lovely wedding day. hope my advice helps. good luck.

How to clean up the white body part of Lacoste Thrill Croc Mesh shoes?
Damn I should have got those.
Finish Line or Footlocker (it might only be one of the two, go to both places) sell shoe cleaner that are pretty cheap, like 5 bucks maybe. They come in cans and its like a foam.
Also found this, I dont have any experience w/ it though.

Why did women pick shoes to obsess over, instead of a different article of clothing?
I mean, women could just as easily get obsessed with bracelets or scarves. Why do shoes get all this special attention?

shoes complete the outfit.
you can make an outfit dressy or casual just with a pair of shoes.
you can make an outfit sexy or subtle just with pair of shoes.

I bought some shoes that fit me well everywhere but the front where my toes go, a little long. Its bending?
Is there anyway to keep it from bending up like an elf shoe. Like a special way to tie it or something
I bought some shoes that fit me well everywhere but the front where my toes go, a little long. Its bending?
I would bring them back because it sounds like it's just the style of the shoe.
I've done that with pointy-toed pumps. I purchased a pair online, and when I received them and tried them on, the toe part curled up and it looked silly.
Sometimes shoes are just poorly-made. Hold out for something better, especially if you paid a lot for them. If you invest in something, you want them to be perfect.
If you really want to keep them, though, take them to a shoe-maker. They're experts. They might have an answer for you.

I was just wondering do they make ballroom dance shoes u can wear to a....?
Club??? Im gona strat takin salsa classes, and if I want to go practice at a club.. well u know people drink drinks to the dance floor and spill it everywhere. Do they make some kind of special salsa or ballroom shoes for this, that u can easily clean??? Especially if its not suede on the bottom?? I just wondered. If not then what could I wear???
I was just wondering do they make ballroom dance shoes u can wear to a....?
Spilled drinks ruin the soles of dance shoes. Most ballroom dance shoes have suede soles, and that is a problem. If suede gets wet, it takes a long time to rehabilitate.
I would suggest shoes with the hard leather sole. They won't get damaged like suede soled shoes.
I won't go so far as to suggest character shoes (which are relatively inexpensive but have leather soles), however, if you are going to a club to dance, you want to wear something stylish. If you find that leather soled shoes are too expensive for your budget, have a shoe repair shop glue leather soles onto your existing shoes.
Reply:Hey, I tried searching for you, but it proves to be difficult even for me. Leather sole is unusual for ballroom shoes. I think your best option is to call several dance shoe stores and ask them this question. They deal with shoes for years on the regular basis. Try this store: http://bdsweb.ballroom.com/BDSMall.htm
His website isn't that great but I've been to his store (local to my area). He carries a lot of salsa and tango shoes, along with typical ballroom shoes. Give him a call and ask if he has anything with leather sole. Here is a couple more stores that I've ordered from:
http://www.ballroomconnection.com
Worldtone Music, NY (look them up with search engine)
These people know a lot about different brands of shoes.
Another option is to get the suede soled shoes and accept the fact that they will get soiled. I wear my old ballroom shoes with suede sole to salsa clubs. I treat them like normal shoes, except I don't walk on asphalt and don't step in the mud. The sole doesn't fall apart or anything, it just gets all shiny, doesn't look like suede anymore, and it loses the proper ballroom performance. But since it's my old shoes I'm not going to bring then back to a ballroom studio. To note: I threw away at least 6 pairs of worn out shoes, but none of them had a worn-out sole. It is the upper part that goes first, even after I "mistreated" the suede sole at salsa clubs.
Reply:I had suede soled ballroom shoes get trashed in a club, too.
For bar-dancing, stick to a leather (smooth) sole. Pay attention to balance and security. Whatever shoes you dance in should stay securely on your feet -- ankle straps are key in most ballroom shoes. Look at where the heel is positioned -- ballroom shoes have the heel further forward under the foot for stability, and also have a steel shank (under the arch, again for support and stability).
As an alternative, look for ballroom shoes on eBay or elsewhere used, and make this pair 'just' for club dancing (or reserve your oldest pair). If you can't resist and wear 'good' ballroom shoes to the club, use the wire brush to scrub up the suede later. I've extended the life of my shoes doing this.
Reply:Hey BT--I see you're still looking. I'll tell you what I told my gf when she started getting interested in dancing. You can buy normal shoes with leather soles. You want something with a back, in my opinion, and with an open toe (not just for style but practically because you'll get more blisters dancing in closed-toe shoes). When I went dancing with my gf Friday night, she wore the street shoes we'd found for her--they were very cute and very sexy, and after like an hour, her toes were pretty much on fire! So now, she's looking for a dance shoe....
That said, yes, clubs can ruin the bottom of a suede soled shoe. There are spilled drinks and spilled Lord only knows what on some of those floors. IF you're lucky enough to be on a wood floor. A lot of them are concrete, and they will tear up the soles of your shoes also. What I do when I go to a club is just take an old pair of ballroom shoes, I don't care about the soles anymore.
The truth is, you won't be able to dance in dance shoes and maintain them the way you can ordinary shoes. So if you have that shoe fetish that so many girls have, you just have to resign yourself to messing up your beautiful new dance shoes. To me, the wear and tear on a dance shoe shows how seriously someone takes it--it's a great dancer who has a closet full of ruined shoes!
Once you're in a typical club, you'll find that spilled drinks are the least of your worries. The floor is a minefield, where you may get stepped on (especially by other women in heels, which trust me, really hurts), or an especially fun thing for women dancing in clubs, get hot cigarette ash flicked on your toes (resulting in a typically hilarious impromptu happy dance of your own). So your leather soles will be the least of your worries.
Good luck, then, and may the Force be with you!
Reply:if its a sexy shoe with a heel that you want then look for something that has a strap down the top of the foot. it stabilizes better. in your salsa class, they can point you in the right direction

What type of track/running shoes should I get for my feet?
I'm not sure what's wrong with my feet, but I have a couple of problems with them.
When I run a long distance, they start to hurt. Even if I jump rope for 20 minutes, they start to hurt. My coach says that its because I have flat feet, and I think she may be right.
Are there any special kind of running shoes for feet like mine?
What type of track/running shoes should I get for my feet?
I don't know why everyone is talking about insoles. You need motion control running shoes that are made for people with feet that have low or no arch.
A real running shoe store can get you the right shoe.
Here are various good brands of motion control shoes:
http://www.roadrunnersports.com/rrs/sear...
Reply:orthepedic shoes
Reply:If you are correct you may need to see a podiatrist for orthodic inserts.
A good running shoe store can tell you what you need to do before seeing the doctor.
Reply:Having flat feet puts one's lower extremites, including lower back, out of alignment, which over time leads to a myriad of problems that may progressively worsen. If you'd like to correct your flat feet let me know--k.sordo@gmail.com
Reply:Try the doctor Scholls or whatever gell paddings and foot lotion for her
Reply:I dont know if there are certain shoes for flat footed people or not,
but
Try Saucony shoes, for running and everything, they are great. I own like 5 pairs and I wear them all the time.

Need special insoles? Pain in ankles, knees, hips and back?
I'm wondering about this before talking over with Doc. Could I need special insoles for my shoes? I am flat footed with bunions and I often get pain starting in my ankles, then knees, then hips and it's like in the joint itself. Not muscle pain, it's deep bone type pain.We just did blood tests for arthritis, lymes and more and all came back normal. Doc is sending me for x-rays on ankles to see if anything shows up. I'm thinking it's from my feet being misaligned and then the pain works it's way up my leg as the day goes on. Any thoughts?
Need special insoles? Pain in ankles, knees, hips and back?
insoles would help relieve a lot of that. I wore them for years for the same reason and now I have arches. If you are young they will correct problems but the older you are the less correcting they do (since you are no longer growing) but they still relieve the aches.

How to buy men's dress shoes, hard sole or rubber sole?
I'm looking to get new dress shoes to wear with my suit. What are the difference between rubber sole and hard sole dress shoes? Rubber sole doesnt make clapping noise when you walk on hard floor compared to hard sole soles. The clapping noise gets kind of annoying. Are certain sole choes for certain occasssion? Such as the hard sole for special occassion Anyways this shoes will be more for job interviews and presentations.
How to buy men's dress shoes, hard sole or rubber sole?
The leather soles breathe better, so if you have a smelly feet problem, don't get rubber soles.
Reply:If you are a boss then you can clap your leather soles all you want.
Letahre stitched soles are often sign of a better made shoes than a rubber sole variety.
I use rubber-sole shoe sonly in a rainy weather. Report It
Reply:Must wear soft always if you dont want feet problems.
Reply:Ask a guy at Mens' Warehouse (but be sure they're not only selling one type of shoe).
In my humble opinion, it seems that our hard-soled shoes are more formal. I would prefer them for an actual interview (unless I had to wear them for hours on end).
Of course, hard soles make noise, but that can be minimized. It's kind of like how women have to learn to wear heels -we have to learn how to wear "guy-heels." Bear in mind, it can sound professional to walk assertively, but can sound like you are a clumsy oaf if you are making too much noise.
Reply:I think for job interviews and presentations you'd want to stick with a more formal shoe, which the hard sole would be.
But for everyday work I'd go with the rubber, I mean why not?
Reply:You can find rubber soles to match a suit, you just may need to look around. Try Steve Madden. They are a tad pricey but nice shoes for all occassions.
Reply:just remember. Stiched not glued. Glued is cheap. stiched is better.

Anybody know a solution to tying shoes when it hurts to wear shoes because of high arches?
I have weak ankles when I wear nice looking shoes so I live in tennis shoes. They are comfortable to wear but I have one problem. After wearing them all day; it hurts at the top of both feet because I have high arches. My mother-in-law says that there is a special way to lace shoes like those. Anybody know how to do it?
Anybody know a solution to tying shoes when it hurts to wear shoes because of high arches?
i have the same problems, when i wear sneakers i buy velcrow ones that look nice still that way you can just loosen them up alittle. but try getting a (w) shoe that normally makes them alittle bigger on the top and they wont hurt so bad. as for tieing them try to leave the laces loose at the top that way there isnt alot of pressure there.
Reply:not to lace them... but get some of those dr. schols foot inserts for high arches- they make your feet feel great- i use them in all my shoes!
Reply:Try on different brands of shoes - I wear New Balance because they have a roomy toebox and room for my high arches.
Reply:I am a certified shoe fitter of Nordstrom's and tell you what, it has nothing to do with laces or tying your shoes. It is simply because you are wearing the wrong shoes!
The height of the arch makes a difference in fitting shoes. It hurts the top of your feet also because HIGH ARCHED FOOT ALSO is a foot with a HIGH INSTEP, which sometimes has difficulty w/ a slip-on type shoe and that is why you said you live in tennis shoes.
But hey you gotta remember, tennis shoes, gym shoes usually has a lifespan of only 6 months. Here's what i suggest you to do..go to the nearest Nordstrom's Shoe dept because they would know which are the shoes appropriate for your feet. We are trained for that and we usually know how a shoe was made and what technology was used for that particular shoe.
The bottom line is, you have to get yourself the right shoes.

Is it accepted for men to wear shoe lifts for special occasions like going out ballroom dancing, weddings, etc
The reason I ask is, I am 5'8", and I meet a lot of girls where I live, go out, and go to church who range from 5'6" to 6'0" tall-it's not a question of attracting them, that's not the problem. It's just that for special occasions with pictures, dancing, etc., this could be helpful maybe.
Is it accepted for men to wear shoe lifts for special occasions like going out ballroom dancing, weddings, etc
Yes!! In fact I think its prefereed if you are shorter, because your date will most likely have on heels. I am a tall girl and short guys do not bother me at all, but you're right, for pictures it would look better to be taller. You can also buy mens shoes with a built in life and a short heel.
Reply:Sure I think it is ok for a man to wear shoe lifts fot htings like that. It will help the man fit in and fell as tall as the rest of the guest.
Reply:I believe you should be able to do anything that doesn't harm others for whatever reason you come up with.
But I also believe that you should come to terms with your height. I find that shorter men are more conscious of their heights than the people with whom they come in contact. I personally don't notice the heights of shorter men, unless they are under five feet. Maybe others are more conscious of that. In any case, you should avoid those people who make judgments about people based on such trivial matters as their height. There's more to you than a yard stick can measure. Once you understand that, the way you carry yourself, the confidence you exude, your healthy involvement with others will more than compensate for your height -- which isn't that short, by the way.
Reply:Absolutely not! If you do then the shoe lift police will surely find and detain you- That will be much more embarrasing than the height difference!
Reply:You need to be secure in who you are and not worry about what other people think. I know a couple who have been married for at least 10 years where is guy is about 5" 6" and the woman is 5" 11". She even wears heels when she goes out with her husband, which makes her even taller.
In my opinion, I think wearing shoe lifts is out of the question.

Othopedic infant shoes for club foot?
My child has club foot and we have this special metal brace with shoes attached for my child and I was wondering if there was some place online where parents trade shoes or sell them for lesser money than retail....my child has outgrown his and I'd gladly trade/sell his old shoes for ones that are his size now....if there is a site that does offers this beacuse the shoes cost over 100 dollars and i know he will keep outgrowing them and I'll keep having to get newer ones later on.
So does anyone know of a site or anything similar that might help.....thanks in advance

Your insurance should cover any orthotics he needs because it has to do with a birth defect. The physical therapist should be able to steer you in the right direction. Another source is the pediatrics social worker who saw your family at the hospital where he had the operation.
Most states have agencies that provide funding for children whose family do not have the means to pay for health care. In California, it's CCS (California Childrens' Services).
Reply:Sorry I don't know of anyone or a site for this.
I hope that you do know there's surgery to correct club foot.
My grandson had surgery at a very young age and is fine, 28 now.
He did require insole supports for a few years.

You might want to check with the Stride Rite company. They may have sales and even if they do not or do not have what you need I bet them would have information on communities such as the one you are seeking.
Reply:My niece had a clubfoot as a toddler and she was fitted with shoes through Shriners. Maybe if you contact them, they would probably be more than happy to let you know if there something you can do and maybe trade as I'm sure they are expensive for them too.

Why is it that I catch girls who I think like me, looking at my shoes- Is she trying to size me up?
A few times last couple of semesters at college, inculding this one, I always notice a girl I don't know and who I think is kinda cute, look at my shoes during class. Normally she sits in front, and Im in the row behind. I have a normal pair or tennis shoes on, nothing special and the girl looks at the corner of her eye not once or twice but several times. I've heard before that girls look at guys shoes to size up what type a guy he is- if they're dirty, then he doesn't take care of himself etc. Is that true?
Why is it that I catch girls who I think like me, looking at my shoes- Is she trying to size me up?
She may like your shoes.
I love shoes.
Reply:Not really but can be. It depends. If she likes your shoes than it is a good thing. Trust me. We do look at shoes to see if we like them because shoes are an important part of style and what you do during your day. For example, people who play basketball have shoes for that and people who do a lot of walking want comfortable walking shoes. I wouldn't think too much into it...maybe she just liked your shoes. No big.
Reply:personally i've never heard of that. but one of my friends once said that she looks @ guys shoes to tell how big their piece is. idk if this is true. i doubt it cuz obv. i have "investigated". but maybe thats what they are doing.
Reply:She may just be staring off into space.
If she is a person that learns from hands on experiments (stop laughing you know that's not what I mean!!!!!) she will look out of the bottom left of her eyes when staring into space. If she looks out of the bottom right corner of her eyes, she learns best by tasting and smelling things. )I don't know how you learn from taste and smell)
Reply:There's an expression that the bigger the shoe (and foot), the bigger the tool...if you know what I mean. So maybe.
Some girls (and guys too) like to see nice shoes on a guy. The guys in my high school used to compete all the time for the most expensive brand name sneakers, because that was a status symbol (sort of like a girl's pocketbook or clothes).
However, in the long run, the girl should like you for who you are, not your shoes or size, so don't worry about it. Girls do like good hygiene, though, so I guess it kind of implies that guys don't take care of themselves if they're dirty.
Reply:wow lol thats kinda funny who knows you might have some nice kicks
Reply:lol ive heard of that. maybe tehy are sizing you up or just adore your shoes.

Does anyone have experience with the Achilles Speed training shoes. See: www.achillesspeed.com?
The Achilles Speed Dot Com web site offers to "Accept wagers, give odds and challenge any speed training competitior to compare results after 8 weeks." The leverage of their shoes combined with special plyometric drills seem logical. The site claims to make fast and slow twitch muscles react quicker. Slow twitch muscles can't be converted to "fast twitch" muscles. I'm looking for an answer from someone with a kinisology and sports training background. Thanks! Mike S

Achilles shoes/Jumpsoles/all other types of shoes with a platform in the front work by strengthening the calf muscles. In exercises, the shoe forces the calf into a fully stretched position, so when the calf contracts, the range of motion increases. This strengthens the calves more than partial ROM movements.
The problem with this is that most people aren't ready for that kind of stress of their Achilles tendons yet. Most programs start out way to fast (since they claim results fast) and people end up injured and disappointed.
The second problem is that the calves don't contribute that much force in the running stride compared to the hip extensors. Training a small muscle group like the calves will not help as much as training the main power producers (glutes, hamstrings).
Lastly, it isn't the shoes that produce fast twitch muscle fiber transformation (you are right that you can't convert slow twitch to fast twitch, but you can convert the undifferentiated fibers to fast twitch, as well as making the existing fast twitch fibers thicker and stronger), it is the exercises. You can have the same results doing regular plyometric drills, or any exercise that involves a strong muscle contraction at a fairly quick speed.
If you have any more questions, just ask.

Ballet shoes?
Ok,like when the ballet people get on their tippy toes,do they use the very end of their toes or what?and like does it hurt when u do that for a long time? And is there anything special in the shoe so it won't hurt?
Ballet shoes?
Dancers typically use "pointe' shoes, which have an insert into which the toes fit and provide support.
Still, the toes are quite strong and some dancers are able to stand on their toe tips without this sort fo shoe. I don't think that early on there is any way to make it painless; it's like a gymnasts hands on the bar... until their hands toughen up, rips and blisters are common.
Reply:The shoes have a lot of extra padding in toe, and if they are very experienced dancers they wrap their feet with dancers tape for extra support, it takes some getting used to and hurts a little at first but after a while you don't feel the pain anymore.
Reply:the tip of the toe in proper ballet shoes, not the soft ones for practice, have a flat piece in the end so your toes are bent, it just looks like u r on the very ends of yur toes. an optical illusion
Reply:Pointe shoes are constructed in such a way as to provide support to the dancer's foot while dancing en pointe. The end of the shoe (the box) is usually made of canvas and glue, giving it it's shape and stability. There are several products that provide shock absorption to the toes to lessen the chance of injury. For the beginner, dancing en pointe will hurt, but with time the pain isn't so noticeable. Many seasoned dancers aren't bothered by it at all, and, though this is not the norm, some dancers (myself included) have enough nerve damage in their feet that they cannot feel the pain.
Reply:You use lambs wool, ouch pouches, gel pads, to cushion the toe but you still feel pressure because it is important for the dancer to feel the floor with their feet/toes.
Reply:oh,,,i can imagine that it hurts, just as much or more than that which those toes are pressed agaist,,,there should be lots of love in them toes, and do they use the very end of their toes, well some SPOTS in some areas can be very groose, almost unbearable, so i would have to say yes, detatchment would be very benficial to your health...,......are we talking about the same thing here.........this is the metaphoric section is not it...............woops please forgive me god, i am lost, help me to find my way home, love you all
Reply:the shoes you wear are pointe shoes after a while it doesnt hurt unless you get new shoes.....dont forget gels, they cut down the pain factor a lot!! oh and your on your tippy toes
Reply:Yes, they do. And yes it hurts!!
