Do you take your shoes off at the door when you come in your house?

Do you have a special place you put your shoes at when you come in the door? Or do you keep your shoes on in your home?

I have a 2 year old and 4 year old.





I take them off immediately. My children usually know when I'm about to get home and pull all the pillows off the couches and chairs...throwing them into a pile in the center of the living room. When I come home, they immediately grab me...drag me to the pillows and we play on the floor. If I don't take them off, a little one could get hurt....the boy is a monkey!
Reply:We take our shoes off as we enter through the office or back porch and that's where we leave them.
Reply:No. A house is not a home without a little dirt. 4 kids running in and out dont want to keep taking them off and putting them on.
Reply:my mother would beat me if i walked inside the house with shoes on!
Reply:If they're muddy...Otherwise I leave them on...I have many mats on the deck and at the back door to wipe them on....
Reply:that depends on which house you're in,, some houses prefer no shoe policy and others are nuetral about it but sometimes when you don't know what to do its always polite to remove them.
Reply:My family doesn't do it but this is a very good practice because it keeps the house clean. I wear my shoes to my bedroom and put them in the closet. I don't wear shoes in the house.
Reply:I take them off at the door and have others do the same so as not to ruin my carpet. My sister once stepped in poo without knowing it and would have messed up my house had I not told her to take off her shoes and place them on a rug by the door.
Reply:I ALLWAYS take the off, at my own house or some one elses. i have a shoe rack but i never use it. I hate it when ppl come in and dont i think its VERY disrespectful. Unless i were inthe house were i was skared to for infection from the carpet or what ever is on it. then i just want t leave......uk!
Reply:Nope I keep them on at all times when I'm awake.
Reply:i take my shoes off and leave one pair out and ready on the side of the matt and the others in the closet next to the door.
Reply:No. As soon as I get into my bedroom, I take my shoes off and place them back into the shoebox.
Reply:Yes...as soon as I walk in the door - even before I turn off the alarm! I can't stand to have shoes on in the house...feels like I'm suffocating. I ususally leave a pair of sneakers or flips on the mat at the back door just in case I need to step outside.
Reply:I do take my shoes off. We live in the south so it makes it easier to cool down. I don't have a designated spot - but considering I spent 20 minutes yesterday searching for everyone's shoes, I should make one.
